Preschool Program
The Chestnut Ridge School District is excited to have a preschool program. Our preschool classes are part of Former Governor Rendell’s early childhood initiative. Chestnut Ridge School District is one of the programs deemed worthy of Rendell’s 73 million dollar Pre K Counts program. The classrooms opened their doors in October 2007. District preschool classrooms are located at Central Elementary.
The Pre K Counts funding has allows the district to provide a high quality preschool experience for sixty-four 3 and 4 year olds. Pre K Counts guidance allows students that do not live in the Chestnut Ridge School District to attend preschool in the district. Students enrolled in Pre K Counts meet income elegibility guidelines. Families whose income exceeds Pre K Counts guidelines may send their children to preschool at Chestnut Ridge by paying tuition.
The New Paris Elementary campus is home to a Bedford Fulton Head Start Program. The Head Start program is housed in the modular building at New Paris.
